Checkered Upholstery

Postby planecrazzzy » Fri Jan 14, 2005 8:29 pm

I wanted my upholstery to MATCH the tail of my airplane to "balance" it.
I asked a Custom upholstery shop "how much?" They said Whooow, You DON"T WANT TO KNOW....
So, I did it myself on my REGULAR sewing machine , I bought heavy needles and upholstery thread and a yard of Red and another of white
Cost was under 20 bucks....Well, the foam was 15 bucks...2" everywhere and 3" under my seat...

I wanted 4" checkers , so I cut the strips 4 1/2" , that left 1/4 on each side to sew the strips together.

and build your wings on the way down...
