The bottom stringer

Post by KevinC »

How do you terminate the aft end of the bottom stringer?  There is no plug-in at that end, and I don't imagine you leave it flapping in the breeze back there...

thanks

Kevin,
The bottom stringer just goes up into the fuselage at the end.  I flattened the last few inches of the tubing after the last stand off and bent it gently into the fuselage.  This will give the fabric a smooth transition to the rear of the stringer.  I looked for a picture and did not take one of that specific item, but if you look close it is in the background of this photo.

Kevin,

What Dave said, except I didn't flatten it, just cut it off.

I did the same.  Just used a tubing bender and bent the end up past the last mounting location.  Then cut it off.

Thanks - I'll be doing it today.  Side stringers were easy.
