Jabiru engine fuel pressure readings

Post by ftcaruso »

Can anyone with a Jabiru engine in their Highlander tell me what they are seeing for fuel pressure readings? I have always been concerned about the low 1.5 to 1.8 PSi that my Dynon tells me is the pressure reading when burning 5 GPH during normal cruise. At fast idle (1,200 RPM) it seems to pull between 2.5-3.0 PSI. However during full power the PSI quickly drops to 0.0 PSI at 9-10 GPH fuel burn. This has always bothered me, but the engine has kept running... until yesterday when it “paused” at full power, only to recover when I immediately throttled back to 2500 RPM. Just to be sure, I landed and tried it again. Same result. Probably some sort of an obstruction or fuel flow problem that I now need to troubleshoot, but I cannot seem to find any “normal” PSI numbers for the 3300 and was wondering if any of you Jabiru owners have noticed what your engine pulls at various power settings. :?
