The long wait is over

Post by jak »

Well folks it only took me 5 years but Sat morn about 10:00 my plane finally took to flying. Scott was at the controls and she did in fact fly. Amazing that I can make something do that. We did several flights just hovering over the runway to test things out, had some miner issues, worked through them then up up and away she went. All was good. Afterwards I got to fly her and then all was really good. Sunday came and I got to fly with an instructor and actually got to log some time it was great. A few more miner issues and we are ready to go. Thanks to all my friends whom I have pilfered help from over the years and to my loving wife for putting up with me during this part of my life. All is well now. Jak

I think she just might be on to something... :)

Congratulations Jak! We are coming down next week to explore the area and to do some flight training with Billy. We'll definitely come by to see you guys at Just Aircraft and I would love to see your Highlander.

Way to go Jak!

Just curious... So you are at the factory trying to build airplanes all day, but to dramatically slow that progress, you are on the phone explaining to us bunch of Yaahoos how to build our airplanes. And you build airplanes parts at home after hours and weekends for the factory... So this airplane was built between what, mid-night and 5am?
Which leads me to my follow up question of, with so little sleep, how do you remain so friendly and chipper on the telephone when we call?

Dunno how you do it, but we sure appreciate it.

Congratulations Jak!

Jak,
That is great news. I'll be down in early June to fly with Billy, hopefully will get some time to come down to the factory.
Flying something you put together is an awesome feeling.

Congrats,
Gary

Way to go Jak!

I think I am going to be doing
mine soon, also!

Thanks for all of your help &
input on mine.

Be safe!

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
