I will be standing along the fence on Sunday filming the arrivals. Always fun. Troy, I will keep an eye out for your RV although it may be hard to pick out since so many arrive.

Hi All,

I'm just joining the group after lurking a while and would like to say Hi and put faces with names :)

I'll be flying up in a DC-3 from Georgia (GA2). See y'all Tuesday

Cheers!

Sorry I can't make it on Tuesday. We don't arrive until Wednesday afternoon and get to the grounds Thursday. I'll wear a Wild West Aircraft T-Shirt and be with my dad. (he'll be in an electric scooter rig) Hope to see some Escapade/Highlander/SS guys there on Thursday.

What is your affiliation with the -3? I used to wrench on and fly freight out of southwestern ohio in DC-3s and they sure hold a spot in my heart. My biggest regret in my aviation career is I left the company before I got typed in them.

Just curious how many are planning on flying their highlanders/escapades/SSs to Oshkosh this year. Mine is not yet flying, but I would like to see a bunch for finishing ideas.

Hey Dane!

I live at GA2, an airpark developed by Ron Alexander, former owner of Alexander Airplane, which became Aircraft Spruce East, and of Polyfiber which he sold a few years ago to Jon.
He bought the -3 twenty years ago and used it to promote Polyfiber, now he uses it to transport airplane crazies to fly-ins, etc. He also uses it for for Hollywood productions.
He flew it for example in the recent movie "42" about Jackie Robinson. A side benefit was that Harrison Ford and Chris Meloni flew into GA2 for lunch ;), but I digress.

I've gotten some stick time and hope to eventually get my SIC rating. Ron does run a DC-3 school ( http://dc3training.com )

BTW Dane, as a former engineer, I really enjoy your posting here!

Cheers,

Some of you guys post up some
pics of the gathering for us poor
working people to see!

Be safe!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
