Re: Pictures of flying in NZ
Your photos of NZ are beautiful. Looks like you are having a great time flying your SS. My dad was always interested in flying. It would have been awesome to spend some time flying with him when I was a child but we never had the funds for flying and he is gone now. It must be special to be able to share that with your son and what a special experience that must be in such beautiful surroundings. I was able to share a lot with my children but not flying. Maybe now that I am finally flying myself I will get a chance to spend some time with my grandchildren. We would love to see more photos of NZ. Keep them coming! Joe B

Thanks everyone, some pretty awesome flying down here for sure. I was thinking at some stage a bunch of guys chuck thier machines in containers and we do a fly about the country. The English Rolls Royce Club does it.

John,
What was the final outcome of those Mud Flaps?
Where did you get them, or have them fabricated?
After thoughts on them?

Roughly, what does it cost to get an airplane into a container and have it shipped to NZ?levyland wrote:I was thinking at some stage a bunch of guys chuck thier machines in containers and we do a fly about the country. The English Rolls Royce Club does it.

Please post some pics in the tacked picture thread!

Thanks!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.
I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Howdy Pete,
I would highly recommend the mud flaps. They don't weigh much, and I can't imagine they are much drag as they are behind the tires and they are parallel with the airstream in flight. They do an excellent job of keeping shit off the wing. And I have a lot of it on this farm!

The winter is the most settled Allan, October and May are the equinox and are pretty stormy. You finish that airplane yet?
