Kiev on SuperStol with 912ULS: Spacer or not?

Post by Jakkals »

Jak, I'm hoping you will see this and jump in.
With all the dust flying around long props and MMOI issues I will stick to the trusted Kiev.
With a standard 912ULS and using Just's custom exhaust system, do I need to use a spacer and, if so, what thickness?

I spoke with Jak about the same thing a while back. The reason he gave for the spacer is to get the cowl a bit further from the front exhaust tubes to avoid heat related paint damage.

I also used the 1" spacer for the reasons stated above. Mine came from Sabre and they machined it perfectly for the Whirlwind prop.

I have a Kiev with very low hours with a brand-new spacer that I would sell. If you are interested in it please call me at 208-880-7887.
