Howdy Everyone,
I recently came back to NZ from the States with a 80x36 Prince Prop.
Like Steve I had been flying with a Catto which has incredible take off capabilities, but terrible cruise 69 knots GS.
I have one word word to say about this prop AWESOME!
I chucked it on and my static was 5430 but I could not hold the brakes on, but will report back with an exact static.
Once I released the brakes the initial thrust was phenomenal.
I have not done an actual pull test yet but is was very impressive with the airplane literally jumping off the ground equal to or a wee bit better than the Catto.
The most important result was I picked up 10 knots on my ground speed to 79 knots GS.
My goal is to go 90 knots GS and I think with a bit of increased pitch (possibly 40) and a couple of other clean ups on the airframe I will be knocking on that.
Equally important was the problems I was having getting the airplane on the step and out of the low tail syndrome has been eliminated.
Also the elevator and horizontal stabiliser are now parallel.
I will report more once I get additional flight data. There has been quite a bit of discussion as to what prop is best and at this stage I am very impressed with the Prince.

Do you have a 80x36 or a 80x38 .
In the other post you said you had a 80x38.
Sounds like you are getting great performance.
I hope someone will give me some input on what prop I should use on my 914.
Lonnie is suggesting a 78x48 but i see everyone else is using a longer prop with less pitch.
Keep us updated on your performance.
Thanks! Oren

Have you done the Mass Moment of Inertia test on it? I'd love to know how it scored...
