instrument panel help

Post by smiley »

Just starting to mount the instrument panel.
any suggestions as to how high and how far back to mount it from the brace.
I have found always best to learn from what others have already found out.
Thanks for your help guys

I mounted mine as low as I could to maximize visibility over the cowl and in the thread "fun with fiberglass" I have a picture of a new dashboard I made to pull the dash closer to me by about 8 inches...my eyes aren't what they used to be

Thanks for the replay.
I really like moving the panel back 8".
Do you have any issues with your knees getting in and out?

I'm 5'11' and I usually get in and out with the seat all the way back and it's not a problem at all. When I'm adjusting the seat forward my knees bump on the dash but that's the only time it's an issue.
