Highlander Accent Lights...

Post by SuperFly »

Howdy all,

I bought these some time ago, intending to use one somewhere on my Highlander for an accent piece. Now that I have converted to a SuperStol, they don't really fit the bill.

The two larger ones are backlit with electroluminescent tape in a light blue color. The two smaller ones are just raised letter with no lighting. They are a stainless finish, and very lightweight. And are 12V DC powered.
They are made for the door thresholds of a Toyota Highlander, so they are formed slightly at the ends. My plan was to cut them down and use just the centers. I think it could be very easily done, and I think it would make a very trick detail in a Highlander. Maybe in the baggage area, on the rear headrack, or bottom of the panel, maybe even incorporate them into the top or bottom of the doors...

I'd like to sell as a set, but if more than one person is interested in just one, Ill split them up. Just don't want to see them sitting on my shelf...

I'd take $55 shipped anywhere in the continental US. Make it $60 and Ill ship them to Canada or Alaska.

Really, 100 views and not one person has even told me I'm off my rocker. Perhaps its priced to high. Make me an offer then. I don't want to have to buy a Highlander kit after I get the SuperSTOL done just because I have these lights...

Hey, Ben,

Boy, you have been spending time with your lighting. That's what you were working on at Oshkosh. Did you ever come up with a feel-good solution for you landing light arrangement? I don't think I helped much as the Aero LED landing/taxi light that I used is completely different now. Just curious.

Hey Dennis,

I now have some Aveo Engineering Vega TL lights. They are pretty darn bright, and very aero-dynamic. I am going to mount them right on the side of the cowl. Since my cowl will be the very dark green, I don't think they'll be too unsightly.

I'm planning to point them at slightly different angles so I can see when on the ground, and level in flight. Hoping it works like I plan ;) Ill report later on this summer when I am flying...
