Wing covering

Post by orenjr »

Is there anyone that would have an idea of the weight difference of covering the wings with oratex in place of stewarts system ? I am planning on white for my wings but already have the fuselage covered I am just trying to see where I can save weight.
Thanks! Oren

It completely depends upon the skill (or lack of skill) of the person applying the Stewarts coatings. Oratex has a known weight. All the others will vary a lot. You will find this demonstration helpful:

What are they building in the background. The wing is aluminum skin, The fuselage looks like a S.S., but what is on the floor of the cage?

It is a super stol several people have skinned the wings they are too. it appears to be some of the remote mounted avionics in the floor. Jak
