Another float plane video

Post by gkremers »

This isn't anything special to those of you with experience flying floats but for me it's a new adventure. Practicing staying on the step after landing and getting on the step during the takeoff run takes tine and feel. Still working on it but it's fun.

My wife and I flew up north in MI to visit some friends on Sunday. They live on a really nice small lake. This was my wife's first flight with the floats installed. To make it extra special it was also our 34th anniversary on Sunday. We landed around 9:00am, it was dead calm so it was also my first real glassy water landing. The landing was good but I never thought we would touch down!!

I'm so glad to see you enjoying your new Highlander amphib. A Highlander makes for a very exceptional seaplane, especially as an amphib as it has exceptional load carrying abilities in adition to a very high power to weight ratio, and a light wing loading.

Your Highlander on those floats is gorgeous Gary.

Loved your videos! They could only be better if there were more

Very nice!

Thanks for posting.

Please add that to the tacked
picture thread!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
