G3 Touch and 914 turbo oil pressure

Post by orenjr »

I am stumped on getting readings on my oil pressure on my G3 touch.
I have it wired with a 12v from the G3 it has 12 volt but no reading any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks! Oren

What oil pressure sender are you using? I have a Kavlico on a 914 with G3X touch and it works great.

I don't have a 914 or a G3, but as far as oil pressure senders, there are resistive outputs and voltage outputs. Among these types are various ranges and various pressure scales. There are 0-5v, .5-4.5v, etc. And you need to determine whate the pressure range the sender is for. I'm guessing you can tell the G3 this info and have it output properly, but if you have it set up for a voltage input and the sender is outputting a resistance value, or vise-versa, it likely will not display properly or at all.

In short, know thy sender.

Also, you should be able to test it by checking the voltage between the signal and ground of the sender. It is likely a .5-4.5v sender and should show at least .5v when power is applied. If you don't have any signal, the sender is bad.
