Aileron Hinges

Post by utpa001 »

Hi All,
I'm working on the hinges for the ailerons, but I'm not sure exactly where the end hinge should line up.  The manual says it should be at 3/4" from the end of the aileron spar tube, but for the aileron and wing rib to be flush with each other, it would need to go at about 1/2" from the end.  Where should it go?  Should the aileron and end wing rib be flush on the tip end?

Thanks,
Tim

The manual has you mark 3/4" in from the outboard end of the aileron spar tube.  That will be the center of the hinge pivot.  The rib is 1" wide, and so... half of the rib width ( the hinge is centered on the rib) is 1/2" and the aileron goes past the end of the wing rib 1/4".

You are both right.
