Android Weight & Balance App

Post by Tralika »

Anyone know of a simple Android App for calculating Weight & Balance? I've downloaded and tried several but they are way overly complicated and will only work with the aircraft templates provided on the app. Programing the app for a simple airplane like the HIghlander seems to be impossible. I have a W&B calculator for my plane on Excel but it is not usable on my phone. It would be nice to have something that is usable in the field.

You could easily make a spreadsheet, I did for mine. Super easy on highlander since w/b envelooe is a rectangle.

To use a spreadsheet on a phone or tablet, we can import it into a Google Docs spreadsheet. I tried it, and it seems to work fine on my Android, but I haven't embedded anything for others to use. Here's an attempt:

Highlander Weight & Balance Rev 1 - Dane Rasmussen:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... d=85837049

Weight & Balance - RV-7A - G. Kremers:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =583769990

To use these, you'll need the Google Documents app -- available for Android or IOS -- on your phone or tablet. Then you should be able to open them. Click on the three dots on the top right corner and select "Available offline", and they'll be saved on your device.

That's the theory, anyway. I may need to "allow editing" for other users, so please try putting your own information in and see if that's possible. If not, I'll make the necessary changes. I'd sure appreciate feedback on it.

Thanks for the replies. I downloaded the Avare Electronic Flight Book app. It has a W&B feature that is simple and works well. The app has lots of useful features. I haven't flown with it yet but even if I just use it for flight planning it should come in pretty handy.
