Battery box

Post by KevinC »

I don't like my battery tray.  Just too wimpy for the long haul.  I've been thinking about it for several days and haven't come up with the solution.  So, my friends, it is time for some R&D (rob and duplicate).  What are you doing?  I am using an Odyssey gel battery - can go on its side.  Also need a spot to mount the battery contactor relay.

thanks!

Mounted mine today

Post by scubarider »

I mounted my battery box today.  I bought the Odssey PC925.  A big one.  They say bigger is better...hmmmmm
Anyway, don't have my camera with me here but will get a picture soon.  I mounted mine on the right side of the back baggage compartment.  I made two fiberglass squares, bought a billet aluminum battery holding plate.  I put the plate on top of one of the squares, the square on the tin, then the other square under.  I bolted it with four stainless bolts.  Really looks sharp and is very tight.  Will drop the cables toward the back baggage wall so they can't be seen.  The battery is covered by a billet top plate.

Hey Kevin!
Here's a pic of the battery tray
that Jamie showed me. I made
mine while I was down there one
day. I bought the strap at a local
outfitters store.

Later!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
