fabric plates

Post by KevinC »

I started working on making fabric attach plates for the wing underside fittings and a couple of things came up.  First, there are two templates in the book for the pulleys on the bottom of the wing (aileron, flap).  I can see how the flap pulley cover works, but the aileron pulley template doesn't make much sense as it is too large.  Seems to me like the flap pulley fabric plate template would work just fine for both?
Second, the fabric plate material is all the same size pieces - 8x6 - but that is not large enough for the aileron template or the lift strut attach bracket plates.  Any reason I can't make these out of left over floor material?

thanks

I had the same trouble, I bought more material, took them to busby and had him cut them out for me. They look great and they fit! Let me know if you want some. I still have some material left. He is cutting more this week for a couple of other guys.
