I'm able to use one of the pieces , I need to patch it up .
The toothpicks help me with the Bondo.

Re: Wing Tips / Strobe cover
Hey Guys ,
.
The Lexan will be .06"...Oooops, it was .08 - but still in the thickness range
I have the mold matched with the end plate
I had to see the tip in place .(drop the wing)
My angle was "off"...I fixed it
Gotta Fly...

Re: Wing Tips / Strobe cover
After I get the lens covers , I will mount the strobes.
I might find some red and green plastic ...
Each tip will have two strobes ...the front ones could be used as navigation lights .

Re: Wing Tips / Strobe cover
.
I Dodged one ...
The stuff felt pretty flexible ...it said new something ...
The layout was for two factory cuts on each piece .
I sheared the longest cut ... its a FAST motion .
What a horrible sound was coming from the back side of the shear.
I looked the piece in my hand , it looked fine , a little rough .
The "drop"...BIG CRACKS
I cleaned up the shear line to avoid cracks , and used a skinny cutoff wheel to cut /melt the rest.
.
This is the size Dave(Bemidji Aviation) said he needed for the small vac-u-form machine .
Basically this part of the project had been on hold until something like this chance came along ,
or I waste more plastic ...

Wow , impressive machine after looking at Utube homemade rigs.
I asked Dave about posting his "contact " info in case youz guyz might need something vac-u-formed.
Some of the things he showed me that he has designed and molded were very professional looking .
I also learned about using Textured plastic sheets ...
