Steve,
That is a mighty pretty bird and you can be proud of the hard work that went into it!
Good luck on the flight test stuff, and we are all waiting to hear how she flies.
Congratulations! I'm hoping to be there soon but I unknowingly dropped the ball in a couple spots. I went to the EAA site to look at the process.
Step 4 Register Your Aircraft (allow 90 days to complete)
Crap! I'm going to be sitting around with a completed airplane waiting for the paper work! And I wish I had submitted the paperwork to get mine registered LSA. I fly ultralight sailplanes and I think this would be a great little tow plane. But because of FAA rules, you can tow with a ELSA but not experimental amateur built.
Just a side note. You can tow with a SLSA, not with a ELSA nor with and EAB. But then if you are going to charge for the tow you need a commerical license to do it.
Steve,
Plane looks great! Glad to hear it all lined up even if a few days after you planned. I emailed our paperwork to the DAR the other day and got the OK today so I mailed all of it to him so he can fax it to the FAA. He gave us a timeline of around 3 days until the FAA gives him the thumbs up so hopefully we will join you next weekend. Its a long tunnel but there is light.
