Our EAA chapter (#1337) inherited a Firestar II build and are working to complete it. (Possibly with an electric propulsion system, because why not?)
We have a set of plans and the builder's manual ("recent" ones from the factory) but they specify different sizes for the aileron hinges. One says 6" and the other says 8" so we're a bit puzzled. We have enough material to do 8" but does anyone know the right answer and/or if there was a change at some point along the years?
Thanks!

Re: Firestar II Hinge Size?
Besides the length of the hinge .
MS20257-5
They come in 6ft lengths , they sell it by the foot
they measure 2 inches across
Gotta Fly...
I'd say 6" was for the ultra light build ( 5 ribs )
My FSII (7 ribs ) has 8" hinges

Sometimes you just have to take the leap
and build your wings on the way down...
