Garmin has now released the GDU 375 MFD as the first part of the G3X system.  This looks to be the same system that will come in the 162 SkyCatcher.
Aero-News.net has a short article on the GDU-375 MFD release.

The MFD and PFD for the G300 will be essentially the same hardware.  Connecting an ADAHRS and EIS, magnetometer and temperature probe to a GDU-370 will give PFD functionality.  The GDU-370 is the same thing as the GDU-375 but without the XM satellite radio.
