Very Nice. I really like the rear starter configuration. As this engine is heavier than what the VP-2 I'm building usually use, I need to not only keep my corvair light but keep it's weight as far aft as I can.

going with a rear starter makes the engine heavier.... mainly because the stock oil system must be modified. The starter gets in the way of the oil cooler and sometimes the oil filter. Look at a rear start engine to weigh at least 10lb heavier.
A stock oil system with front start is generally the best way to go if you are concerned with weight.
I see you have no harmonic balancer are you not worried about torsional vibration snapping your crankshaft? this is from an old motor mechanic who's seen it happen sorry for the critisism of a very beautiful engine rebuild.
Look up in the sky is it a bird?, a plane? yup its a plane
